2018 End of the League Season

The 2018 League Season has come to an end now that the last Sunday matches have been played. It was quite an eventful season with the torrential rain and cold we had only on league days! Thank you to all our league ladies for participating and the usual cameradery and sportmanship shown throughout the season. We are busy with the play-offs at the moment where we have the same great atmosphere.

Silver & Bronze Semi-finals at Royal Johannesburg and Kensington - 4 October 2018

The wonderful reception by RJ&K made all the players forget that it was once again "league weather"! We want to thank the staff at RJ&K for their kind reception and attention to detail, nothing was too much trouble for them. Every team received their scorecards and pin placement sheets in sealed envelopes from the lady captain, Wendy Huddy, there was complimentary coffee and biscuits and water on the tee boxes. Nothing was left to chance - thank you RJ&K!

New Handicap system

I think everyone is battling to comprehend how this works. I have attached two documents which you can download for easy reference but don't print as a huge document.

The HNA Apps on the phones have been updated, you might have to restart the app to get the updates. There is a very easy to use calculator which I have used to get the info below.

The players found the greens to be very tricky and the weather warmed up a bit and a good day was had by all.

Our inaugural Mid Amateur got underway today. The ladies were very excited to be competing in our first ever Mid Amateur. Our inaugural Mid Amateur Championships gets under way on Tuesday at Ruimsig Country Club. This event is open to all lady golfers in South Africa aged 35 and over. INAUGURAL Gauteng Mid Amateur Championships 6th and 7th February 2018

After many years of holding our Gauteng Golden Golfing Girls, we have decided to replace it with The Gauteng Mid Amateur Championships. We have had so many requests over the years to hold a Mid Amateur for players 35 and over. Many unions in South Africa have started hosting Mid Ams to cater for our more mature single figure and mid teen golfers. These have been very well supported over the years and we are hoping that ours will be too.
